What is Role-playing?

What kind of RPG is this?

This particular RPG is played via message boards. A character comes into the message board, and starts writing what their character would do, as in a story.  The only difference is that, in stories you have to write in the whole cast of characters. In this game, you only write your own, and from there you interact with dozens of other characters that are also writing their tales on the message board. Thus, your character's life will never get dull.

How does one role-play via message board?

After you get into the message board, you do the same things that you would normally do; type in your character's name, email, the subject of your post (which is the grabbing title of your part of the story), and then of course you type in whatever is happening to your character, or the reaction your character had to someone else's post.

You CAN make up regular citizens to use, to add dialogue and various things.  You CANNOT role-play as somebody else's  character or NPC in the game, however. The small tiny people you use are only to be used as props. And ONLY for props.  If you wish to make another character to role-play with, and you are a member. Send me another character sheet.

How do I fight in a Message Board RPG?

Fighting is always the most difficult part of a Message Board RPG. For the most part, you should talk to the person you wish to fight before-hand to work out an entertaining battle. During that conversation do work out each other's weaknesses and strengths and play them out. When you get to the posting, just make one post and act out your series of attacks. Do NOT however, assume that the character will be dealt the damage you give them.
